Ping Identity Completes Record Year - Expands Executive Team
Jonathan Buckley Named Midmarket Vice President - Roger Oberg Named Vice President of Marketing
DENVER, Colo. - February 7, 2011 - Ping Identity®, the leader in Internet Identity Security, today announced record growth in 2010. For the year ending December 31, the privately held company achieved 50% growth in bookings, with Ping Identity’s customer base now exceeding 600. Membership in the company’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) technology partner program also increased to more than 120, the largest such community in the identity marketplace. The company pointed to rapid growth in cloud computing and the associated enterprise requirement for stronger Internet Identity Security measures as the reasons demand for Ping’s market leading enterprise and cloud-based identity products is increasing.
To accelerate future growth, today Ping Identity CEO Andre Durand announced the addition of two new members to the company’s executive team. Jonathan Buckley takes on the role of Midmarket Vice President and Roger Oberg has been named Ping Identity’s Vice President of Marketing.

Jonathan Buckley brings more than 15 years of executive leadership and business strategy experience to his role as Ping Identity’s Midmarket Vice President. Through his management consulting company, The Artesian Network, he served in executive roles for more than a dozen software and cloud-related companies in the US and in Europe over the last two years. Prior to The Artesian Network, he served as CMO at cloud storage startup Nirvanix, Inc., Vice President of Marketing at Sequoia Capital-backed PowerFile, Inc. and was the Software, Services and Internetworking Business Unit Vice President at McDATA Corporation, a former NASDAQ 100 company now part of Brocade Communications. Prior to his career in the technology space, Buckley was a manager in the business strategy practice at Arthur Andersen LLP. He holds a B.A. in Economics from The George Washington University in Washington D.C.
Roger Oberg brings more than 20 years of executive experience to his role as Ping Identity’s Vice President of Marketing. He has served as CMO, Business Unit GM, and Vice president of Marketing, Sales, and Engineering at software companies ranging from cloud-based security start-up Veracode to business intelligence providers TIBCO and Spotfire (acquired by TIBCO in 2007) to software development and delivery leaders IBM, Rational (acquired by IBM in 2003), Requisite (acquired by Rational in 1997) and XVT (acquired by Peregrine in 1995). Oberg earned B.A. degrees in Economics and Organizational Psychology from the University of Michigan.
